Hey all,
Im new to Victoria area. I came across this page while looking for beginner leagues in the area. I haven't played competitive hockey in about 10 - 12 years (kids etc). I do help coach my sons novice team, which most of the kids are better than me, i was told by someone that has played in this league, that its a good place to get going again.
How does the tiering work? Would it be best to check out a few games before trying to find a team or register for next year, to see what level i would be comfortable playing at?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Sorry for the very late response. The top tiers of hockey, tiers 1-3, are almost exclusively people who have played for several years of organized hockey. Our lowest divisions, tier 10 and 11, are almost exclusively people who have recently started and/or been playing in the league for a few years. Our Development tier is reserved exclusively for people new and learning the game. If you can skate but have trouble handling the puck, tier 11 is a better fit than our development tier.
We hope that helps.
